Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan will be available for his side's African Cup of Nations opener against Guinea on Sunday. The Udinese frontman's situation was not clear as he was sent-off in Ghana's last competitive match. He was red-carded in the Black Cats' 3-0 defeat to Brazil in the 2006 World Cup round of 16. However, according to BBC Sport, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) said they received no notification from world governing FIFA over any suspension. As CAN 2008 hosts, Ghana did not take part in the qualifying campaign. They have played just friendly matches since their elimination from the World Cup.
