Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has confirmed that Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o will not join the national team before January 12th. The Indomitable Lions are set to start their pre-African Nations Cup camp, but Rijkaard revealed that Eto'o will play in Barca's next two games before catching up with the Cameroon squad. "He will still be with us next week and then he will join up with his national team," Rijkaard told a press conference. "It is not the ideal situation, but if the majority of the squad is fit then we will be fine and we will compete with the players that we have." The Catalans will clash with Sevilla on January 9th, three days before facing Real Murcia. Rijkaard's team will be missing injured duo Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi, in addition to Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure, who will join immediately the Elephants squad on Monday.
