Dutch titans Ajax Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven were frustrated to see their top-of-the-table clash on Sunday called off due to police strike in Holland. Police unions ACP and ANVP went on strike, demanding pay raise, before the Feyenoord-AZ Alkmaar game in Rotterdam on Saturday, which was also abandoned. The Amsterdam District Court's ruling in favor of the union on Friday, gave officers the right to strike, forcing Rotterdam and Amsterdam mayors to cancel the games. However, Ajax chairman John Jaakke, who was desperate to get the game played on time, condemned the police's 'unbelievable' act. "We find it unbelievable that this is possible. In spite of the verdict of the judge on Friday night, we had the fullest confidence until this morning that we could play the match," he told the club's official site. "We don't appreciate the way the unions have handled this case. We are asking ourselves how many people are victim of these actions. "We always try to take the wishes of the police into account in our decision-making. "It looks as if they can't do that with the millions of football-lovers who were looking forward to this match." Sad For PSV Coach On the other hand, PSV coach Jan Wouters also sounded his disappointment with the incidents that ruined a great football day in Holland. "We have thoroughly prepared ourselves for this crucial game. And of course it is sad for the fans as well to miss this spectacular match," said the former Holland midfielder. Dutch champions PSV, who were recently dumped out of the Champions League, are one point off leaders Ajax in the Eredivisie standings.
