Ahmed Abou-Mosallam denied making improper comments against Egypt technical staff after he was overlooked for the Pharaohs' African Cup of Nations squad. "I did not attack the technical staff. I respect them so much," the Strasbourg left-back told FilGoal.com on Wednesday. "The journalists should beware when interpreting comments from any player. I spoke to one of them for just one minute and he posted a whole fake interview." Egypt boss Hassan Shehata named eight-foreign based players in his preliminary squad for CAN 2008 in Ghana without the inclusion of Abou-Mosallam. "I was hoping to earn a call-up to Egypt squad but it's up to the technical staff to choose me or not, I can't complain," the 26-year-old said. Abou-Mosallam has also said he did not speak badly about his Egypt teammates, insisted that his relationship with them is very good. The former Ahli man is enduring a frustrating time at Strasbourg, failing to break through the French side's squad. Abou-Mosallam recently revealed that he will depart Strasbourg when the January transfer window opens.
