Egyptian playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika has been included in a list of 55 nominees from 31 countries issued by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) for the World's Most Popular Football player in 2007. The poll has been posted on the IFFHS official website on Thursday morning and the vote will be conducted until January 3rd. The winner will be announced later during the FIFA Gala. The list included 6 Arab players : Saudi Yasser Al-Qahtani (Hilal), Tunisian Amin Chermiti (Etoile du Sahel), Iraqi Younes Mahmoud (Al-Gharafa), Emirate Ismail Mater (Al-Wehda) and Abou-Treika. And from Africa, Ivorian Didier Drogba (Chelsea), Cameroon Samuel Eto'o (Barcelona) and Malian Frederic Kanoute (Sevilla) got their names in in addition to Chermiti and Abou-Treika.
