Barcelona's Oleguer Presas could face three years behind the bars after being charged with attacking policemen four years ago, according to Spanish paper La Vanguardia. Oleguer, among 11 defendants, is accused of throwing stones at policemen trying to shut down a bar in September 2003, the paper said. The controversial defender is yet to comment on the charges. If he was found guilty, he may face up to three years in jail. Oleguer is known of being an outspoken political activist, who calls for the independence of Catalonia from Spain. He refused to join the Spanish national team and never speaks Spanish in public, preferring the Catalan language. Barcelona president Juan Laporta, a moderate pro-Catalan case himself, said the club will support Oleguer in the case.
