Mohamed Zidan has been ruled out of Egypt's African Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi on Sunday due to injury. Egypt doctor Ahmed Maged told reporters on Wednesday that the Hamburg forward suffers a foot injury that he aggravated during his side's 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. Zidan attempted to take part in Wednesday's training session but limped off few minutes with pain. Egypt coach Hassan Shehata will also have to do without Ismaili left-back Sayed Moawad, who isn't expected to recover in time for the Burundi game after sustaining an ankle injury. The former Arab Contractors manager has excluded Harras Al-Hodoud duo Ahmed Eid and Abdul-Salam Nagah, who were included in the provisional squad. Egypt need victory to secure their place in the 2008 Ghana finals. The title holders lead Group B with eight points, one ahead of Botswana, who played an extra match, and two clear of third-placed Burundi.
