Premiership newly-promoted club Sunderland are reportedly interested in buying Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan from Anderlecht. A close source from the player revealed that manager Roy Keane asked if the player wishes to move to the Premiership. According to the same source, Hassan's fellow countryman Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' informed him of the offer upon request of the former Manchester United midfielder. Hassan, 32, is currently under contract with the Belgian Champions until June 2008. He might be tempted by the English adventure in January or next summer.
