Paraguay striker Roque Santa Cruz has signed a four-year contract to join Blackburn Rovers from Bayern Munich, the Premiership side announced on Saturday. Rovers coach Mark Hughes was delighted to add more striking options to his attack line by signing the Paraguay ace. "We've got a great variation of striker, but what we haven't had is probably a real threat in the air and that is what we have addressed," Hughes was quoted as saying by Rovers' official web site. "He is young, he's only 25, a current international, he has a good reputation and comes from a top European club." The 25-year-old, who signed for an undisclosed fee, spent eight years with the Bavarian giants, but he frequently suffered from various injuries during his Bayern spell. Santa Cruz is the third striker to leave Allianz Arena this summer, following the departure of Roy Makaay and Claudio Pizarro to Feyenoord and Chelsea respectively.
