Ayman Abdul-Aziz's Trabzonspor were handed a 2-1 away defeat to Romanian club Otelul Galati in the first-leg of the Intertoto Cup third round on Saturday. Daniel Sten put the home side ahead in the 28th minute and Trabzonspor's woes were widened two minutes later when Ibrahima Yattara was sent-off. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Ersen Martin struck home six minutes from time to level the score. But Trabzonspor couldn't maintain the draw as Gabriel Paraschiv scored three minutes later to seal the victory for Galati. The Turkish club finished with nine men on the field after Atan Cagdas received his marching orders just before the end. A 1-0 victory for Trabzonspor in the second-leg would be enough to lift them straight to the UEFA Cup.
