England will host Brazil in the first match at the newly rebuilt Wembley Stadium on June 1st, the English FA announced on Wednesday. "We're delighted to be able to announce that Brazil will be the first team to take on England at the new Wembley," FA chief executive Brian Barwick said. "It's a fantastic match to mark the team's return to the stadium after nearly seven years on the road around the country." England's last match at Wembley was against Germany in May 2000 in a World Cup qualifier in which the Mannschaft won 1-0. Steve McClaren's men take on Brazil five days ahead of their crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia. "Brazil featured in some memorable matches at the old Wembley. The new stadium is a fantastic football arena and I'm confident there will be many new memories created there for England fans over the coming years," Barwick added. The 90,000- seater stadium, which was rebuilt at cost of $1.45 billion, will also host the FA Cup final on the 19th of May.
