Strasbourg's Egyptian defender Ahmed Abou-Mosallam might face a few weeks on the sidelines after he tore a groin muscle in his team's last Ligue 2 victory against Guegnon, the club's official site said. The Egypt international was taken-off on a stretcher in the 68th minute of the game that saw Strasbourg snatch a late 2-1 victory. Abou-Mosallam will undergo scans on his left thigh in midweek to determine the extent of the injury and consequently the expected layoff period. The former Ahli full-back has been a regular for Strasbourg in recent weeks as he was voted Strasbourg player of the month for March in a poll conducted on the club's official website. Strasbourg are currently 3rd in the Ligue 2 standings on 57 points, ten points adrift of leaders Metz, and three points less than second placed Caen, but Strasbourg have a game in hand.
