Argentina legend Diego Maradona was taken to hospital in Buenos Aires after suffering illness just before traveling to Switzerland for weight-loss treatment. A statement issued by the Sanatorio Guemes hospital, where the former Napoli star was admitted, insisted that the health problem is not related to Maradona's addiction to drugs. "Patient Diego Armando Maradona has entered the hospital to undergo complimentary studies due to a general sickness he suffered today." Maradona's personal doctor Alfredo Cahe confirmed the 46-year-old's life is not in danger. Maradona, who led Argentina to World Cup triumph in 1986, has been suffering from constant health problems due to drug addiction. He was banned for 15 months in 1991 after failing a drugs test and tested positive again for the prohibited substance four years later during the 1994 World Cup in the United States. Maradona was subjected to a life-threatening problem in 2004 as he spent 10 days in intensive care with high blood pressure, breathing problems and a lung infection.
