Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has shown confidence in his team's ability to win the Spanish Primera Liga title this season. Calderon looked impressed by his team's show during the 3-3 draw in El Clasico against Barcelona, however Real Madrid are still five points behind the Catalans who are topping the table. "Five points are nothing; we can catch them as we have the best away record," Spanish daily As quoted Calderon as saying to Radio Onda on Monday. "If the players continue playing like they did in Barcelona, we won't give away a single point, and this is not an excess of optimism. "If we win the next seven games, the league will be ours then."
Departing Roberto Carlos The 55-year-old lawyer has admitted there will be new signings after both David Beckham and Roberto Carlos leave the club at the end of the season; however he lamented the exit of the Brazilian. "It will be difficult to forget Carlos, but it is his decision and we have to respect it", he affirmed. "There will be changes following the departure of Beckham and Carlos, but the moment will be in June. "We will have a player who is young, with a lot of quality for years to come." Real Madrid have been recently linked with swoops for two young stars; Milan's Brazilian playmaker Kaka and Manchester United's Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo.
