Hassan set for Egyptian League comeback
Published in FilGoal on 29 - 01 - 2007

Egypt and Anderlecht midfielder Ahmed Hassan revealed that he decided to return to the Egyptian League starting from next season.
The national team captain told FilGoal.com that he hasn't made his mind up yet on which club he would sign for in the summer.
"I think it is time to return home," said the 32-year-old Hassan, who signed a two-year contract with Anderlecht last summer.
"After almost ten years in Europe, I believe I have to come back and pass on my experience to young players."
Hassan left for Europe after winning the Egyptian Cup with Ismaili in 1997 to join Kocaelispor, where he played for three years as a holding midfielder, scoring seven goals.
He also played for Genclerbirligi and Besiktas, whom he helped win the domestic league title in 2005/2006 before joining the Belgian champions.
Nostalgic
But the two-time African Cup of Nations winner said he will cut short his spell in Belgium for personal reasons.

"Although I have a very good relationship with the club, the coach and the fans, my decision is final," Hassan said.
"I need to spend more time with my kids and take care of my family. I am not playing as well as I am supposed to recently because I always think about coming back.
"I am not a machine that plays regardless how high or low my morale is. I am sure that I will find my top form once I reach the home soil."
Hassan has been linked with Cairo giants Ahli and Zamalek but he stressed that he hasn't made up his mind yet over his destination.
"I had offers from Egyptian clubs during the winter transfer window but I have always disliked the idea of switching clubs in January," he said.
"Until now, I haven't decided which club I will play for. I will consider all the offers and choose the best for me.
"The best offer doesn't mean only the best money, but also the place where I will feel comfortable."
