Robben snatches victory for Chelsea as Arsenal crush Blackburn
Published in FilGoal on 23 - 12 - 2006

A last-gasp strike from Arjen Robben gave Chelsea a thrilling 3-2 victory over Wigan in the Premiership on Saturday.
Chelsea looked on their way towards a comfortable victory when they went two up thanks to efforts from Frank Lampard and Salomon Kalou.
Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey scored twice to put Wigan level and send the huge home crowd into ecstasy.
But the Dutchman raced down the right before cutting in and thundering a low shot in the 92nd minute to ensure the victory.
Chelsea now have 45 points after the end of the first half of the season, just two points behind leaders Manchester United, who had no trouble in demolishing Aston Villa 3-0 on the same day.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice for Manchester including a superb solo effort while Paul Scholes added the third.
At the Emirates, Arsenal came from behind to crush Blackburn 6-2 in their biggest victory this season.

Van Persie
Shabani Nonda put the visitors ahead after just three minutes from the spot but Arsenal answered with three almost back-to-back goals from Gilberto Silva's header, Alexander Hleb's close-range shot and Emmanuel Adebayor's penalty-kick.
But Nonda narrowed the gap before the interval with a neat bicycle shot to give Blackburn some hope.
Arsenal opened the floodgates in the last five minutes of the game as Robin van Persie scored twice and Mathieu Flamini added a sixth.
Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur were handed a 3-1 defeat by hosts Newcastle United.
Kieron Dyer and Obafemi Martins put Newcastle ahead after just eight minutes but Tottenham pulled one back with a Danny Murphy opportunist strike in the 15th minute.
Scott Parker wrapped up the three points 11 minutes from the interval with a powerful shot from close range.
Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly played the whole game while Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' came off the bench and took part for 33 minutes.
