African Champions League holders Ahli are set to play the winners from Highlanders of Zimbabwe and Mauritius champions Pamplemousse in the round of 32 in the tournament. Egypt's second representative Zamalek will kick-off their African campaign from the preliminaries when they take on Burundi's Vital'O. Ahli retained their title in November after beating Tunisian side Sfaxien 2-1 on aggregate. Their win equaled the tournament's all-time winning record of five titles set by arch-rivals Zamalek. As Zamalek are absolute favorites against Vital'O, they should be playing either Sudan giants Hilal or Polisi of Zanzibar. Vital'O have visited Egypt in 2000 when they played Ahli in the round of 16 of the tournament but they lost to the Red Devils 4-2 on aggregate. Ahli will play the first leg on 2/3/4 March before hosting their opponents on 16/17/18 of the same month in Cairo. Zamalek, meanwhile, will play the first leg at home on 26/27/28 January and the second match on 9/10/11 February.
