Three Arab players were nominated for the 2006 Player of the Year announced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on Sunday. Kuwaiti striker Badr Al-Mutawaa of Qadsia, Saudi international Mohamed Al-Shalhoub and Qatar's Khalfan Ibrahim were on the shortlist that the AFC announced in a press conference in UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. AFC will announce the winner of the continent's top award on Wednesday November 29th, also in UAE. Saudi international and Ittihad Jeddah defender Hamad Al-Montasheri won the honor last year.
