Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney said on Saturday he is eager to beat his old rivals Liverpool when they meet on Sunday in the Premiership. Rooney joined United from Liverpool's city rivals Everton and he still wants to beat the Reds even with his new team. "People say the Chelsea and Arsenal games are our biggest of the season," Rooney told the Daily Mirror on Saturday. "But there's nothing better than beating Liverpool. It's a massive game for us and we're looking forward to it." United enjoy a great campaign this season, placed second in the Premiership table and winning all their three games in the Champions League. Rooney believes that United's mixed squad of experienced and young players will give the hosts the edge. "We've got the experience of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar and Gary Neville," the English international said. "They can help the younger lads become better players, the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and myself."
