Zamalek fans chanted angry slogans at Abdul-Halim Ali and Moetazbellah Mohamed 'Eno' during the game with the Police team, bringing the friendly to a temporary halt. Assistant coach Ahmed Ramzi asked the referee to stop the play to take the pair out of the fray before the game went and finished in a 1-1 draw late on Sunday. A foot injury hitting starting defender Tarek Al-Sayed also marred the game, forcing the international left-back to leave the pitch. Al-Sayed's substitute Osama Hassan scored for Zamalek before Police leveled through Mohamed Mahali. The crowd was angry with Eno who is reportedly bargaining with Zamalek officials for signing an extension as his current contract ends in the summer. Several media reports said that the prominent holding midfielder has already signed for Zamalek's arch-rivals Ahli. Ali, on the other hand, was vocally criticized by sections of the crowd for repeatedly squandering easy scoring chances, something he has been doing for a while in competitive games. The international forward looks out of form this season, scoring only three goals in seven appearances in the domestic league despite a numerous number of clear-cut opportunities. As a result of the incidents, Portuguese coach Manuel Cajuda decided that training sessions and any upcoming friendlies will be staged behind closed doors.
