CAF demands Ahli explanation over Jose's gesture
Published in FilGoal on 05 - 10 - 2006

Confederation of African Football (CAF) demanded an official explanation from Ahli regarding coach Manuel Jose's gesture in his side's 2-0 victory over ASEC Mimosas in the African Champions League.
Television cameras spotted Jose making an indecent gesture using his arm towards the referee after Ahli scored their second goal.
"We want to know to whom Jose directed his gesture," CAF technical committee director Abdul-Monem Hussein 'Shatta' told FilGoal.com on Thursday.
Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri said Jose was expressing his joy after the team scored the second goal and this gesture is "normal in Europe".
"CAF was not convinced by Al-Badri's explanation. An investigation could be hold if any member of the competition's committee appealed."
"If the referee included the incident in his report Jose would have been hit with a two-year suspension," Shatta added.
Ahli didn't reveal that they received any inquiries from CAF.
