Capello highlights mistakes in five-star Real
Published in FilGoal on 27 - 09 - 2006

Real Madrid's 5-1 drubbing of Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League on Tuesday was not enough to save the team from coach Fabio Capello's criticism.
"This team (Real) can and must improve in many areas," the Italian tactician said n a post-game press conference.
"We let them have too many chances and not all our opponents will be so generous to us."
While the offensive was on full force, with some impressive doubles netted by Ruud van Nistelrooy and Raul and another goal through Jose Antonio Reyes, Capello targeted the defensive team's efforts saying things would need to be improved.
"I think we made some defensive errors. They (Dynamo) have a lot of quality and pace on the break and there were a few things I didn't like at the back."
Capello was quick to admit his joy at Raul's brace, which increased his total Champions League tally to 53 goals.

Raul earned some praise from Capello
"Raul is a talisman for Real Madrid and a very important player for this team. I think you have to value a player for everything he does and not just the number of goals he scores," Capello said.
Raul wasn't the only player Capello was impressed with, Van Nistelrooy was at his child's birth early Tuesday morning, but still managed to claim two goals in the match.
"He didn't sleep last night and had only a short siesta this afternoon but he was certainly wide awake for this game," said Capello.
The win was desperately needed by the Spanish team after losing their opening game and Dynamo Kiev have also struggled so far in the Champion's League.
Having conceded nine goals in their opening two games, coach Anatoly Demyanenko was outraged by his side's dismal results.
"Our defense was very poor indeed and Real Madrid took full advantage," he said. "Each team had its chances but they took theirs and we didn't.
"Our players should have fought much harder. Real are a very good team but we made a host of very serious mistakes," Demyanenko added.
