Real Madrid new hero Ruud Van Nistelrooy praised his side's huge victory over Levante in the Spanish League and said it reinforced the team's confidence before taking on France's Lyon in the Champions League. The Dutchman pounded Levante's net with three strikes while Antonio Cassano added another as Real produced a 4-1 drubbing of the newly-promoted side on Sunday. "Now we can start thinking about Lyon," Van Nistelrooy was quoted as saying by Real Madrid's official website. "It was a good day and an important win. We needed to take the three points." "We play our first Champions League match on Wednesday, and today served as confidence boost heading into that game. It is a very important match for us." Real Madrid were drawn with Lyon in Group F of last season's Champions League, losing 3-0 away and tying the French champions 1-1 at home.
