Argentina striker Carlos Tevez said regular football was the main reason behind his decision to join West Ham United ahead of big Premiership clubs. "West Ham is a team where I can get a rhythm and see what English football is all about," Tevez was quoted as saying by BBC Sport on Saturday. "It's going to do me a lot of good to play in this league." Tevez and Argentina teammate Javier Mascherano joined West Ham from Brazilian club Corinthians. The move was a surprise to many as Teves got offers from several of Premiership top teams including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. "First I want to do well for West Ham. I'm not concerned about playing in a big club. I just want to play," he said. Tevez, who was part of Argentina's World Cup squad, left Corinthians following a bust-up with the team's new coach Emerson Leao.
