Korea's Park denies France victory
Published in FilGoal on 19 - 06 - 2006

Ji-Sung Park nailed an 81st minute goal to help South Korea hold France 1-1 in their World Cup Group G match on Sunday.
France took the lead the lead through Arsenal striker Thierry Henry in the 9th minute.
The draw means South Korea have clinched the group summit on 4 points while France raised their tally to 2 points in second place ahead of the other group match between Switzerland and Togo on Monday.
France looked ready to end their winless streak in the World Cup, which lasted since their 3-0 win over Brazil in the 1998 final.
Henry ended France's goalless spree when he pounced on a deflected ball in the Korean area and buried the ball past keeper Woon-Jae Lee.
The French should have been up 2-0 when Patrick Vieira headed a corner-kick over the goal line but the ball was clawed away by Lee in the 32nd minute.
The referee waved away claims for a goal but the television replays showed the ball did cross the line.
The Koreans waited until the 81st minute to stun Ls Bleus as Park launched himself to loop a long ball over the shaky Fabien Barthez as defender William Gallas failed to clear it on the line.
Both Zinedine Zidane and defender Eric Abidal collected their second yellow card of the round and will miss the final group match against Togo on Friday.
World Cup semi-finalists South Korea need a draw in their final game against Switzerland to secure passage to the second round.
