Gonzalez's injury bothers delighted Pekerman
Published in FilGoal on 17 - 06 - 2006

Argentina coach Jose Pekerman said that Luis Gonzalez's injury was the only negative incident in his side's 6-0 crushing victory over Serbia and Montenegro in the World Cup on Friday.
"We are very happy for the match that the team has played but we a little bit sad for what happened to Lucho Gonzalez who had to leave the pitch because of an injury,"
Pekerman was quoted as saying by Sky Sports after the match.
"We still don't know what he has done because we have to wait for doing some medical exams. I hope he gets recovered soon and can play, it seems to be only a muscle contraction," he added.
Argentina qualified the World Cup's knock-out stage after humiliating Serbia and Montenegro 6-0 in Gelsenkirchen on Friday.
Maximiliano Rodriguez scored twice while Hernan Crespo, Lionel Messi, Esteban Cambiasso and Carlos Tevez completed the rout.
Argentina advanced to the knockout stage along with Holland, who beat Ivory Coast 2-1.
Pekerman said he is still undecided whether he will field a full-strength side in his clash against Holland or not.
"Regarding what comes next, it's still too early to say what we will do in the next match," he said.
"We have just finished a game that we won very well and want to celebrate a bit. Then in the next few days we will decide which players will be in the match against Holland," he added.
On the other hand, Serbia coach Ilija Petkovic said the humiliating defeat is "one of the worst" in the country's history.
"New generations will speak about this result. Our opponents were better in every part of the game and they deserve a victory. That was a hard group," he said.
"There was a lot of pressure from our media in the last few days but I can only say congratulations (to Argentina)," he added.
