Lyon coach Gerard Houllier said his side's 0-0 home draw with AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League was a fair result, while ruing Lyon's "too much respect" for their Italian opponents. "We showed too much respect for them in the first 20 minutes of the match. After the break we improved the pace and put them under pressure," Houllier was quoted as saying by Sky Sports after the match. "I could not recognise my team at the start of the game, we just looked at them playing. There was no intensity in attack or defence. It is a shame we couldn't score a goal but I think a draw is fair. The return match could be interesting," he added. Last season's runners-up Milan held French champions Lyon to a goalless draw at the Stade Gerland in the first-leg of their UCL quarter final. The former Liverpool coach expressed his hope his side can compensate their inability to score in the return-leg while praising his French international keeper Gregory Coupet. "We have proved we can score away from home. At the San Siro we will be better in attack," he said. "I believe Gregory Coupet has saved us. We were playing a very strong team and one of the biggest," he added.
