Meanwhile, Brazil barely made it through Russia with a hard-fought 1-0 victory that took place in Moscow. Ronaldo's first-half goal was more than enough to hand Brazil the victory after connecting a Roberto Carlos deflected shot. Brazil, who played without Barcelona star Ronaldinho, who is nursing an ankle injury, were drawn to group F with Japan, Australia and Croatia. Elsewhere, South Korea beats Angola 1-0 thanks to a Park Chu-Young low-shot that went straight into the Angolan net in the 23rd minute.
