Ismailia - Yasser El-Sherif: Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) president Mbaye Ndoye insisted that Senegal still have a chance to qualify to the African Cup of Nations (ACN) quarter-finals. “Senegal players learned their lesson in front of Ghana, now we are ready to beat Nigeria and maintain our hope in qualifying to the quarter-finals,” Ndoya told Filgoal.com in Ismailia on Saturday. Ndoye also said that both the coaching staff and the players knew that they were drawn with a tough group, and that showed on their results. On the other hand, Senegal boss Abdoulaye Sarr insisted that they had all the ingredients necessary for victory and that his side were ready to defeat Nigeria, given their high morale. “Football is unpredictable, and my players have the motivation to beat Nigeria, especially since they want to make up their failure to qualify to the 2006 World Cup,' Sarr said. Nigeria top the Group D standings with a tally of six points, while Senegal and Ghana come in the second and third places respectively with three points on goal difference, while Zimbabwe tail the group with no points. Senegal will face Nigeria on Tuesday in Port Said, while Ghana play against Zimbabwe.
