Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez insisted that he was angry at his players' performance against Luton in the FA Cup round-three match. "The problem was we scored too early and we thought the game was going to be easy," Benitez was quoted as saying on the official club website on Sunday. The Reds came back from a two-goal deficit to defeat hosts Luton 5-3 in the breath-taking thriller that took place on Saturday. "When we woke up the score was 3-1 to them. We got back into it and kept going forward, but you cannot afford to wait until the second half to play,” he added.
Liverpool players' complacency overshadowed boss Benitez happiness with 5-3 victory in FA Cup The Spaniard blamed the players' complacency for their late victory and said that they helped stage a host of chances for Luton, and gave them the chance to score the three goals. "I was not happy with the performance. We gifted them so many chances," Benitez insisted. Liverpool were careful not to repeat last year's scenario, after exiting the FA Cup from round-three at the hands of obscure Barnsley, and qualified to the competition round-four.
