Farouk Gaafar said on Saturday he is still Zamalek coach despite a decision from club president Mortada Mansour to sack him. The controversial boss revealed during a press conference that Mansour forced him to sideline Hazem Emam, Abdul-Halim Ali, Tarek Al-Saied and Tarek Al-Sayed and pressed to field the new signings. Gaafar distributed a statement signed from seven board members including vice president Ismael Selim that he is still the Zamalek manager. He also blamed the team's mixed results on Mansour who hasn't paid the players' late wages and the poor locker rooms. Mansour has fired Gaafar after Zamalek lost 3-1 to basement club Al-Masri in the Egyptian League on Thursday.
