South Africa's Orlando Pirates were held to a goalless draw by Esperance in the Champions League semi-final first leg in Soweto. Tunisia's Esperance will now take heart from their away draw ahead of the return leg that takes place a week later. The other semi-final game between Cameroon's Coton Sport and Ahli has been abandoned as it will be repeated on Sunday. Esperance, who finished runners-up to Ahli last season, eye a third Champions League triumph as Pirates claimed the continental title only once.
