Zamalek winger Ahmed Eid is braced to play as a lone striker against Orlando Pirates in the Champions League next week. The Whites visit the South Africans without their only bona fide striker Ahmed Gaafar, who received a second booking in the defeat at Congo's Leopards. Manager Helmi Toulan is left with no option but to improvise, with Eid looking the closest to lead the attack. "I've played in this position before and I will be ready should the manager ask me to play as a striker," the 33-year-old Eid told Zamalek's website. "The Pirates game will be very tough but I think the conditions in South Africa and the good pitch will help us do well." Like their local rivals Ahli, Zamalek are in a must-win situation after collecting just a single point from their opening two games in Group A.
