Ahmed Abdul-Zaher scored his first goal for Ahli in style, grabbing the winner in a 2-1 victory over former club ENPPI. The Egypt international striker, who said last week that he hopes to net his first Ahli goal against old club ENPPI, scored a superb 87th minute header to seal the win for his new team. The winner came after Abdullah Al-Shahhat had equalized for ENPPI to cancel out a first-half strike from Ahli's in-form youngster Rami Rabiea. ENPPI remain on top of Group A despite suffering their first defeat of the season, thanks to a better goal-difference than Ahli who became level on 12 points with Tarek Al-Ashri's side. Expert finish After scoring his first international goal in Egypt's 3-1 friendly defeat to Qatar last week, teenager Rabiea once again proved his credentials as one of the country's hottest future prospects. Playing as a defensive midfielder this time, the versatile defender notched in a close-range strike between the legs of ENPPI skipper Amr Fahim for his first-ever domestic goal. Abdullah Al-Saied almost doubled Ahli's early lead with one of his long-range pile-drivers, but the Egypt midfielder was unlucky to see his effort ricochet off the bar. It seemed like the on-fire Ahli will have an easy night after enduring a thumping defeat at Harras Hodoud last week, but the Reds' performance significantly declined until ENPPI got their leveler. It was fine team goal finished by former Ismaili man Al-Shahhat - who scored against Ahli in the 3-1 loss that sealed Hossam Al-Badri's fate three years ago in Ismailia. In a risky attempt to claim the three points, Al-Badri introduced forward Dominique da Silva for defender Sherif Abdul-Fadil, while keeping Abdul-Zaher on for 90 minutes. The Ahli tactician's gamble paid off perfectly as the former ENPPI captain punished his old club when he superbly cushioned Dominique's powerful, yet pinpoint, cross to convert the ball home for the winner. Typically, Abdul-Zaher refused to celebrate.
