Zamalek want Mido back from West Ham
Published in The Egyptian Gazette on 23 - 04 - 2010

Zamalek are interested in re-signing Mido in the summer, the club's football director Ibrahim Hassan said on Friday. The Egyptian striker, who is on loan at English Premier League side West Ham from second-division club Middlesbrough, spent the first half of the season at his boyhood club Zamalek.
Although he managed to score just one goal before moving to West Ham in January, Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' was lauded for his battling displays upfront.
Zamalek struggled after the towering frontman and Amr Zaki departed in the winter transfer window, with coach Hossam Hassan complaining about the lack of 'reliable strikers'.
The Cairo giants want him back for next season, according to Ibrahim Hassan, the twin brother of Hossam.
"We have been in contact with Mido since he left the club in January," he told Filgoal.com.
"He is one of the players we are seeking to sign in the close season.
"Mido would welcome a return to Zamalek, especially under the management of Hossam. He was one of our best players in terms of performances and discipline."
The 27-year-old, who has yet to score his maiden goal with West Ham, said he was unlikely to return to Middlesbrough next season.
Ibrahim Hassan also reiterated that Zamalek are tracking Harras Hodoud's forward Ahmed Eid.
The Egyptian international has been linked in the media with moves to Zamalek and their arch-rivals Al-Ahly on numerous occasions but Hodoud said he was not for sale.
"Eid is on our wish-list, but we are yet to table an offer for him," Hassan added.
