THE electoral programme pledged by President Hosni Mubarak in the 2005 presidential elections will be carried out by September 2011, Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif told the Upper House of the Parliament on Tuesday. He stressed that more than two thirds of the programme has already been completed. "The upcoming challenge for the Government is the development of the education and health sectors in order to raise the standard of living throughout Egypt," Nazif told the Shura Council in a session to discuss Mubarak's speech to the two houses of the Parliament. He added that the Egyptian economy, which fell from seven to four per cent in 2009, would rise to 5.5 per cent by the end of this year. "The construction and tourism sectors are back to normal after the global financial crisis," the Premier said. He stressed that Egypt's inflation declined to 13 per cent after it reached more than 25 per cent last year.
