Beirut (Updated 3) - The prisoner swap deal between Israel and Haman Movement is going smoothly, the spokesman of the Movement said on Tuesday. He added that the Palestinian captive that refused to be released from Israel had health problems and she feared that she would not receive proper care in Gaza Strip. Spokesman Osama Hamdan told the BBC that the prisoner changed her mind after getting guarantees of good medical treatment in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who has been held in captivity in Gaza for over five years, has arrived back in Israel, chief army spokesman Brigadier General Yoav Mordechai said on Tuesday. Under terms of the long-awaited deal signed last week between Israel and Hamas, the former will free a total of 1,027 prisoners to secure the release of the now 25- year-old soldier. Hamdan, meanwhile, stressed that it is important to go forward to implement the reconciliation with Fatah, adding that progress regarding negotiations with Israel is not possible without such reconciliation. "Closing Palestinian ranks will make the political situation for Palestine much better," he added.
