CAIRO - US Ambassador Anne Patterson joined the Minister of Health and Population, Amr Helmy, to mark the completion of a two-year Egypt-US partnership to improve healthcare in Egypt by training more than 180 Egyptian healthcare executives in advanced leadership and management skills. The event celebrated the success of a partnership between the Ministry of Health and Population and the Harvard School of Public Health, supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and local and international pharmaceutical companies in providing world class executive education from the Harvard School of Public Health to the Ministry of Health and Population hospital and senior managers. "While there are many components to a health system, it is people who make reform happen. An investment in your human capacity development is an investment that will pay off in better health outcomes for the people served," said Ambassador Patterson.
