BENGUELA - Six-time champions Egypt maintained their perfect record at the African Cup of Nations when they beat Benin 2-0 in their final Group C game on Wednesday. Egypt, gunning for an unprecedented third title in a row, had already secured top spot in the group after victories over Nigeria and Mozambique. Nigeria went through with a 3-0 win over Mozambique, who were sent packing along with Benin. Defender Ahmed el-Muhammadi opened the scoring for Egypt with a long-range cross that caught Yoann Djidonou off guard and Ahmed Raouf doubled the tally in the 23th minute, slotting home after a superb save by the Beninian keeper. Egypt top the group with nine points, followed by Nigeria in the second place with six points.
