CAIRO (Update 1) - Preparations are under way for a delegation of US businessmen to visit Egypt in a bid to increase US investments in Egypt after the January 25 revolution, US Senator John McCain said told Egypt's Foreign Minister Nabil el-Arabi Saturday. McCain added that the visit by the US investors would be aimed at supporting the Egyptian economy in this crucial stage, according to Egypt's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Menha Bakhoum. McCain, who also held talks with head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, briefed the Egyptian leaders on his visit to Egypt's war-torn neighbour Libya. The US senator, who leads the Republican Party, called for increased military support for Libya's rebels, including weapons, training and stepped-up air strikes, in a full-throated endorsement of the opposition in its fight to oust Muammar Gaddafi. Meanwhile, Egypt's el-Arabi called for an international conference to help push forward the stalled Palestinian-Israeli negotiations. "It's high time to turn from administering the Palestinian-Israeli conflict into resolving this conflict," he was quoted as saying.
