CAF to meet over Zamalek violence

CAIRO - The Confederation of African Football says its disciplinary board will meet this month to decide on action after a violent field invasion by fans of Egyptian club Zamalek in an African Champions League game against Tunisia's Club Africain.
CAF said Monday the board will meet in Johannesburg, South Africa, in April to consider reports by match officials after home fans rushed the field to attack the referee and visiting players Saturday in Cairo. No exact date for the meeting was given.
Club Africain was leading 5-3 on aggregate at Cairo Stadium when the referee disallowed a Zamalek goal for offside 3 minutes into injury time, prompting the violence.
The Egyptian Football Association responded by delaying the return of its domestic league.
