CAIRO - Egyptian academic Suzanne Abou Awf, an assistant professor at the English Department of Helwan University now working at King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia, has received an invitation to participate in co-ordinating an international conference, which will be held at Harvard this June, and chair a number of sessions in it. Prof Suzanne will also give two presentations of two academic papers on European drama in this conference. This is the first time the organising committee of this conference invites a foreign figure to participate in co-ordinating it. Prof Suzanne presented a paper on comparative literature at the opening session of the literature and arts section of a similar multi-disciplinary conference held at Harvard last summer. She also chaired three sessions in an international conference held in Germany last December " only one month after starting to teach at King Khalid University and was the only one allowed to present two papers at the same conference. Prof Suzanne designed a pioneer international project in the field of global education, during the last academic year, as the co-ordinator of the project. She implemented the first phase of it with her Egyptian students at the Engineering Department at Helwan University without getting or having any funds for it. Twelve international institutions from nine countries participated in this project. Twenty five countries are expected to join the second phase.
