CAIRO - Khaled Serry Seyam, the Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, has resigned and is waiting for the approval of the Government, an official at the Bourse told the Dow Jones website Monday. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Head of Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry, may replace Seyam, according to semi-official Al-Ahram daily newspaper. Abdel Salam told Al-Hayat TV Sunday night that Prime Minister Essam Sharaf did not contact him to take the job. The Bourse, closed since January 27, is expected to open before the end of this week.
