CAIRO (Updated) - Egyptian investigators have ordered the detention of former Information Minister Anas el-Fekky on suspicion of profiteering and wasting public funds, a judicial source said on Thursday. But a source at the prosecutor's office said the official order had not been finalised and had yet to be formally issued. Anti-government protesters had been angered by Fekky because state media, which fell under his charge, had ignored or played down demonstrations that forced President Hosni Mubarak to step down on Feb. 11 after 18 days of protests. Fekky could not be reached for comment.
