CAIRO - Egypt closed ten of its ports on the Red Sea and the Mediterranean on Saturday because of sandstorms and high waves, maritime officials said. Eight of the closed ports - Port Tawfik, Adabiya, Zayteya, Sukhna, Ataka, Safaga, Hurghada and Nuweiba - lie on the Red Sea. Alexandria and Dekheila lie on the Mediterranean. Officials at the Red Sea Ports Authority said the ports "will reopen as soon as the weather improves."
