CAIRO - Scuba diving clubs in the Red Sea have enforced a detailed safety plan to prevent accidents during Eid el-Adha feast, which begins tomorrow, a senior official has said. Ziyad el-Basil, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Maritime Activities and Scuba diving Tourism Chamber in South Sinai and Red Sea, said that the clubs had agreed a comprehensive plan to avoid accidents during the feast holidays. El-Basil said that the safety plan include monitoring the number of passengers on each pleasure boat, and providing snorkelling teams with highly-trained Egyptian personnel, who can cope with any emergency situation that may occur under the sea. "The plan, which incorporates concrete measures to deal with any emergency, also ensures that boat drivers comply with the strict and safety rules when departing and docking at marinas and mooring points," el-Basil elaborated.
