CAIRO- Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit has denied Israeli reports that Gamal, the son of President Hosni Mubarak, had met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a trip made by President Mubarak to attend the relaunch of direct Palestinian-Israeli peace talks last week. "This is not the first time that the President is accompanied by his son," Abul Gheit told the Dubai-based TV station Al-Arabiya. "The President's son had no political role at all during the US visit," he added. Opposition says that President Mubarak is grooming his son, who is an influential politician in the ruling National Democratic Party, to succeed him. Both Mubaraks have denied such claims on several occasions. "Such reports are mere lies and are fabricated by some people, who have a hysterical knack for erroneous analysis and the desire to fabricate something which is not real," said Abul Gheit.
