CAIRO - Chairman of Airports and Air Navigation Holding Company Ibrahim Manna has said that work on new expansions at the Hurghada International Airport is due to be completed next September. The expansions will help the airport accommodate 8 million passengers per year, adding that the current terminal only accommodates around 4.5 million passengers despite the increase of tourist visits to Hurghada. The new building that is currently under construction at the Hurghada Airport will cost LE1.6 billion and will accommodate 7.5 million passengers a year, so that the airport will be able to receive around 15.5 million passengers annually. He added that the building is due to go operational by February 2013.
