CAIRO, Sept 9 , 2018 (MENA) - Trade and Industry Minister Amr Nassar said on Sunday Egypt is keen on enhancing trade and economic cooperation with North and South Mediterranean countries within the framework of the Union for the Mediterranean. He underlined the importance of increasing trade exchange among the union members to achieve economic boom for Mediterranean countries. Nassar made the remarks during a meeting with Secretary General of the union Naser Kamel. The meeting tackled efforts to develop the union and expand economic cooperation among member states. In a statement, Nassar said he discussed at the meeting the possibility for Egypt to organise the forum of the union next year. A number of investors will take part in the forum that will provide a good chance for increasing investments in the union member states in general and Egypt in particular, he added. The union chief said this is his first official visit to Egypt since assuming his post. During his visit to Egypt, Kamel said he will hold talks with the foreign, trade, petroleum and transport ministers as well as Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit. Talks with Egyptian ministers will cover Egypt's participation in sustainable development projects in the area, especially in the domains of energy and transport.
