BENI SUEF, Egypt, August 18, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Sharaawy said that Egypt faces major challenges in the current phase. During his meeting with Governor of Beni Suef Sherif Habib, at the beginning of his visit to the governorate, Sharaawy underlined the ministry's determination on achieving transparency to hold the corrupt accountable and get rid of all forms of corruption. The minister highlighted the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the prime minister to develop the governorates of Upper Egypt and to improve services provided to citizens. He underlined the need to focus on projects in Upper Egypt, including major and small projects aimed at creating job opportunities and enhancing the infrastructure. In addition, he explained that the state is implementing a large number of national projects in Upper Egypt, which would create job opportunities for citizens and modernize the infrastructure, especially water and sanitation projects. He pointed out that the Egyptian governorates have a lot of resources and potentials, which must be exploited to improve the living conditions in the governorates and meet the aspirations of citizens.
